Step 1: First check that the RCS battery power is sufficient. Does the RCS1100 display "waiting for data..." after switching it on? You can also check the RCS1100 battery status by pressing the [FNC] button for about 2-3 seconds ( RCS1100 must be switched on).
Step 2: Check the radio modem power supply. Does the green LED (TCPS26) light up after connecting the external battery?
Step 3: Check the communication parameters on the instrument as well as on the RCS. The standard parameters are (please open image):

Now check your communication RCS1100 - TPS1100 again. If there is no change continue to step 4.
Step 4: Check the link (channel) settings of your RCS1100 and TCPS26-Base modem. The link numbers must be the same on both units. Enter the RCS1100 configuration by pressing the [FNC] button for about 2-3 seconds. Press "Configure modem /TCPS26" You will receive a message that no connection can be made to the TCPS26-Base modem. Press "Abort" [F5] and then connect the TCPS26-Base modem to the RCS1100 via the y-connecting cable ensuring that the modem is supplied with power. Press "Configure modem /TCPS26" again. You can now change the link number (0-15). By pressing the CONT button the link will be changed on both units.
After carrying out these steps you will be able to work with your RCS1100 succesfully.
