What is unique about the GMX902?
The GMX902 is the world’s first GPS receiver specifically designed for monitoring applications.
It includes a high-end GPS measurement engine for dual-frequency code/phase raw data output up to 20Hz in real-time. Its robust and compact housing makes the GMX the ideal choice also for demanding environments. Because the GMX was developed with a focus on the essentials for monitoring, it ensures maximum return on investment, without compromising on data quality.
What communication interfaces does the GMX902 have?
The GMX902 has two serial ports, each of which ensures sufficient bandwidth for raw data transmission up to 20Hz. With serial-to-IP converters, it can also be easily integrated into Ethernet and WLAN environments.
What is a PPS (pulse-per-second) output typically used for?
Many monitoring projects feature not only GPS or TPS, but in addition also other sensor types. Therefore, it is important to ensure simple integration of all sensors involved into a single system. The PPS output, for example, allows synchronization of accelerometers with GPS time.
What software is available for the GMX902?
GPS Spider software serves not only as configuration tool for the GMX902, but its Positioning feature ensures fully automated and reliable position calculation both in real-time and post-processing mode. GPS Spider also interfaces to GeoMoS or third-party analysis software for analysis of movements and limit checks.
What about data logging for post-processing?
The GMX902 does not have on-board raw data storage. Provided a reliable communication line is available, RINEX files for post-processing can be generated with GPS Spider using the raw data stream.
Can I use the GMX902 as a surveying rover or field surveying base?
No, the GMX902 is a pure raw data streaming sensor. It does not include any surveying or RTK capability, neither as rover nor as base.
Can the GMX902 be used as permanent reference stations receiver?
Like many other high-end dual-frequency GPS receivers, the GMX902 can also be used to provide raw data to GPS Spider. GPS Spider can then create RTK corrections from raw data, provided a reliable communication line between receiver and PC is available.
However, due to their data logging capability combined with advanced communication and remote management features, GRX1200 Pro and Classic receivers are recommended for this application.
