Leica Geosystems is proud to be one of the main employers in the Rhine Valley. Our presence has had a great impact on the region's economic well-being, and we consider that we have played a significant role in improving and upgrading the image of the region.
In its sponsoring activities, Leica Geosystems is supporting many local institutions of social, educational, cultural (artistic) and recreation / sports activities. Examples of projects which Leica Geosystems supported are:
- the institution "Youth at Research" (Jugend forscht)
- the Leica Optics Prize
- For the celebration of the bi-centenary of the Canton St.Gallen in 2003, Leica Geosystems supported the international land art project in the Rhine valley.
- International School Rheintal in Buchs
- Child-Care center in Widnau (Switzerland) "Sternschnuppe"
- "School and Economy Rhine Valley" (Arbeitsgruppe Schule und Wirtschaft Rheintal (S&WR))
- cultural projects as the "Altes Stellwerk" next to train station in Heerbrugg
