History & Background
The company was founded in 1993 in California’s San Francisco Bay area as Cyra Technologies, Inc. The company’s first commercial products were shipped in 1998. In February 2001, Leica Geosystems AG (Switzerland) acquired Cyra and the business has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary and standalone division of Leica Geosystems since.
