Extra Battery Packs:
The Leica ScanStation, the HDS6000, and the HDS3000 all come complete with two rechargable batteries (also known as Power Supplies), but for those who want even more continuous scan time extra battery packs are now sold seperately. Each Leica ScanStation and HDS3000 battery is good for around four hours of continuous scan time before it needs to be charged for another four hours. The batteries are hot swappable.
AC Power Supply:
When AC power supplies first became available for HDS scanners they proved so popular that they sold out and went on back order almost immediately. Now AC power supplies are available for purchase for all of the Leica HDS scanners. A Leica HDS scanner can run off either a battery or an AC power supply, but when an outlet is available an AC power supply makes it easy to plug in and let the scanner run for hours on end without having to switch batteries.
