Article Excerpt:
"The introduction of high speed laser scanning has greatly increased the accuracy and realism available to the forensic animator. Combining this accuracy with laser-assisted photogrammetry is enabling experts, working closely with forensic animators, to accurately reconstruct events that would have been impossible or financially prohibitive, a few years ago.
The reconstruction is done on the computer using an accurate 3-D working model of the event. The computer generated working model includes all known physical evidence including the scene, as it existed during the event. The working model can be used to reconstruct what happened, and also what could not have happened."
