Sport Measurement

Solutions for Sport Measurement
Leica Geosystems' instruments can be used at sporting events and during training (decathlon, jumping, throwing) to measure distances and speed with a high accuracy.
World Orienteering Championships
(Reporter 49, Dec 2003) The 2003 World Orienteering Championships held this August in Switzerland marked a milestone in technological history. For the first time ever, the winning routes were able to be visualized in near real-time with Erdas IMAGINE® VirtualGIS software from Leica Geosystems. もっと見る
Decathlon world record
Roman Sebrle was the first person to exceed the magical 9000 points mark. The program for the determination of the height of the pole vault crossbar is also stored in the Leica total station. もっと見る
Distance measurements
February 2000 marked the dress rehearsal, with 1250 athletes competing at the Australian Open Athletics Championships held in the newly-built Olympic stadium. Leica Geosystems total stations were deployed to measure jumping and throwing distances in Sydney’s new “Stadium Australia“. At the meeting, athletes were for the first time able to realistically assess sporting conditions in an arena with a seating capacity of 110,000. The stadium managers also made good use of this opportunity to test the efficiency of proceedings, and see how state-of-the-art measurement and transmission technologies could work together. もっと見る
Distance of throws
Thanks to high-precision chronometry, 75 metre throws can be measured at the speed of light to an accuracy of one millimetre! もっと見る
Geodesy to Physiology
Would tri-axial accelerometers and indirect calorimetry bring new perspectives to Leica receiver GPS System 500 ? We believe so, since the combined utilization of such devices is of major interest in the world of applied physiology. もっと見る
Training - Decathlon
New DISTO laser meter for the world’s most successful trainers in the combined events. もっと見る
